Chances ‘R East

I’ve been going to this Ottawa tradition since 1983. Even when I moved east I’d still go to Woodroffe. Now with Montreal Rd open I gave it a try. I was worried they would have my Chances R spaghetti. But they did and actually did it better. I was thrilled. Service was equally great. Plus they have seniors Monday and a free dessert in your birthday. You’ve got to go.

The atmosphere is really nice, great staff. Portions were great size. Our server Samantha was amazing. I gave 4 stars for food because fries and home fries were pretty cold. We had reservations for the party room and everything went very smoothly for our surprise guest and staff was just awesome. I will be going back. I loved that going at noon we had the option of having the breakfast or lunch/dinner

Everything about our visit was wonderful! The food, the incredibly attentive and friendly staff. They made us laugh and ensured we were happy throughout the meal. We had drinks, an appetizer and a meal each between the three of us. My mother loved celebrating her birthday there! We will all be back again

Great food and atmosphere. They aren’t on top of refilling drinks but when asked they were fast to refill them. We got the feta and pita, spring rolls, balsamic avocado toast, waffles and eggs. The home fries are DELICIOUS Same with the spring rolls, Delicious food

This place is great. We came for the late breakfast and our waitress was great. She was very sweet and attentive. We were taken care of and the food was tasty. We had the apple crumble as dessert and it was delicious!! The place is clean and the washroom smells good. Definitely wanting to come back and try out the evening service. Bring some friends and enjoy the ambiance.

A True Ottawa Gem – Perfect for Business and Beyond This was my third time dining at CHANCES ‘R EAST RESTAURANT, and once again, it was nothing short of exceptional. This visit was during an investor meeting held in one of their private rooms — and it couldn’t have been a better setting. The space was perfect for a professional presentation, while still feeling warm and inviting. The food, as always, was outstanding. Greece-inspired dishes that are full of flavor, beautifully presented, and made with such care. You can really tell the kitchen puts heart into everything they serve. A heartfelt thank you to Claire and Devin, who truly elevated the experience. Their attentiveness, kindness, and professionalism made all the difference in such an important setting. It's rare to feel so well taken care of in a busy group setting, and they did it with such grace. Chances ‘R East continues to impress — a beautiful addition to Ottawa’s food scene, and now one of my top choices for both personal and business dining.

Was hungry after work and had forgotten they have a location now in the east end close to home. It was busy, but not packed. Didn't have to wait in line and was served right away. The server was friendly. I ordered the one piece fish and chips. Didn't take too long to arrive. The beer batter was nice and light, the cod was quite tasty. Lots of fries came with and and they not over cooked, yet still nice and crispy. Also, whatever they use for seasoning on the fries is really good! The coleslaw was also very fresh. Overall, a very good first experience and will stop in once in a while going forward.
